As I look back on the years of my
life that I can remember and I think about the strengths that I most portray,
the two that jump out to me are work ethic and faithfulness.
I have always had a strong work
ethic in everything that I do whether it be doing yard work or playing sports. My
parents have always instilled in me that no matter what I’m doing, that I do it
110 percent. That motto has always stuck with me from the beginning. It’s actually
kind of funny, because now when I do something, even if it’s the simplest task,
it has to be done perfectly, and that is honestly a quality that I love because
I believe that it is really beneficial to give it your all in everything that
you do.
Faithfulness is another strong suit
of mine that I take very seriously and always make sure it is one of my top
priorities. My mom played the key role in me staying close with God and always
putting my faith him. My faith in God along with family is the most important
thing in my life, and without those two things, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
My two areas of improvement would
have to be procrastination, and my ability to stay in touch with people I’m not
around.
Procrastination is back breaker for
me, especially living here at school with all of my friends and so forth. When I
get something done, I still put in 110%, it’s just the matter of when I get
whatever needs to be done, done. My short term plan to help improve my problem
with procrastination is to just put in a better effort to not get sucked in to
putting my homework off to go hang out with friends. I feel like if I really
put the effort in to doing what needs to be done as soon as it is presented to
me, than that could be later transferred into possibly a routine of doing
things when I get them. By getting into that routine, I will have less stress,
and might even see an improvement in my grades as well.
As for staying in touch with
people, I fall under the category of worst ever. I don’t know what it is, I just
never call or txt anyone from back at home or even family of mine that doesn’t live
near me, like my brother and sister. I feel terrible about it when people have
to txt or call me saying “I haven’t heard from you in forever”. My short term
plan to get better at this is to simply call people more often. In my free
time, maybe I’ll give my brother or sister a call just catch up. As for my long
term goal, again, I would really like to see my changes turn into more of a
routine because I really care about my friends and family so much, and I know I
don’t put in enough of an effort to catch up with them, and it is something
that really needs to change.
